Our Purpose

The purpose of WSYC-FM is to provide music, sports and information for Shippensburg University and South Central PA. WSYC was created to provide student training in the fields of radio and audio production, to serve the public interest, and to be an instrument of expression for the university community in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

On-Air Roles

WSYC (We Serve Your Community) is Shippensburg University's student run radio station. In addition to playing music, students can be an announcer who broadcasts various sporting events, public service interviews, and newscasts. If you want to interview new artists in the music scene, talk to record promoters, or work with music label professionals around the world, it's all possible. Whatever area you want to explore, you can!

Off-Air Roles

There are many opportunities for students at WSYC other than being a DJ. You can be a program director, get into PR, be a music director, the opportunities are innumerable. You could even have your own podcast on sports, music, college life, etc. Anything is possible with WSYC!
