Professor James Lohrey

Prof. Lohrey received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo in Media Study and Theatre. He is currently working on completing his dissertation in the Media and Communication Studies Program at IUP.   He previously taught electronic media production, film studies, media writing and broadcast journalism courses at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA, Mansfield University in Mansfield, PA, and St. John Fisher University (College) in Rochester, NY.

Before starting in his academic teaching career, Prof. Lohrey worked as a production assistant at WKBW-TV (the ABC affiliate in Buffalo NY), wrote a bi-weekly film column in a small entertainment newspaper in Buffalo and assisted on various film and video shoots. While in college, he participated in his college’s radio station as a DJ.  He currently hosts a weekly podcast, ‘80s Lost Hits’ that airs on WSYC.

Hello! I am a senior Communication, Journalism and Media major with an emphasis in Visual Media and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. Outside of the station, I work for LANC Marketing as a social media specialist/content creator and audio production intern for WITF.

In my free time, you can find me curating oddly niche playlists, taking photos, and cooking new recipes.

Hello! My name is Caitlyn and I’m a junior Communications Journalism Major with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Creative Writing. I’ve been a DJ for WSYC and Program Director since 2023! I’ve also been involved in WSYC news and am looking forward to watching it evolve this year. Joining WSYC and continuing to grow in the organization has been a highlight of my college experience and I am beyond excited to for the upcoming year!

Hey! I'm Cyrus and I'm a junior Communications, Journalism and Media major with an emphasis in Visual Media and a minor in Music. When I'm not running our news broadcast or my personal show The Mix, you can find me doing photography for The Slate, working as the Publications Chair for Ship's chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, or performing with several of the University's music ensembles. Hey there! I’m Mason Flowers, WSYC’s Sports Director. I run the broadcasts for all live Shippensburg sporting events that are broadcast on WSYC 88.7 FM. I’m a junior Accounting major, and also host Inside Lane Sports every Tuesday on the station. Outside of WSYC you can find me watching tons of sports around campus and playing disc golf.
